3 sent to hospital after crash in Sandy Valley

SANDY VALLEY, NV (FOX5) -

A motorist was air-lifted to University Medical Center on Tuesday with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Sandy Valley.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, a call of the crash came in at 2:56 p.m. on 3100 Sandy Valley Road in the town near the Nevada border, located southwest of the Las Vegas Valley.

According to police, a minivan and a Ford Explorer were involved in the crash. The driver of the minivan, identified as 37-year-old Eliazer Torres-Perez, was traveling west on Sandy Valley Road when he crossed into the opposite lane striking the Ford Explorer.

Torres-Perez was flown to UMC in critical condition. The driver of the Ford Explorer, Victoria Martinez-Trejo, and the passenger, Frederico Tellez-Garcia, were  taken from the scene to UMC by ambulance with moderate injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
