Body found after fire at Laughlin apartment complex

A person's body was found inside an apartment complex after firefighters extinguished a fire in Laughlin on Monday.

According to Clark County Fire Department, crews were called to the 3600 block of Needles Highway at 5:44 p.m. on a reported fire. Crews reported seeing smoke from a second floor unit of a two-story apartment complex.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within eight minutes of arriving, CCFD said.

Firefighters later found the body during a search of the affected unit. There were no other injuries reported.

It was not immediately known whether the death was directly connected to the fire. An investigation is ongoing.
