NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

Three days after a woman was found shot in the head in her own home, the North Las Vegas Police Department explaining why nobody has been arrested.

On Tuesday night, investigators said the shooting on Wildcat Brook Court was likely domestic-related and that there were two other people inside the home other than the 47-year-old victim. Now, they say both of those witnesses have already been interviewed and released pending further investigation.

The department couldn't give a thorough update, given the nature of the ongoing investigation. But, police clarified they are still looking into the possibility that someone else had killed the woman.

They also said they are looking into the possibility that this may have been in self-defense or that the female victim is the one who may have fired the gun.

"All possibilities are on the table," said Ann Cavaricci, a spokeswoman for the department. "It's too early to say."

FOX5 obtained the victim's name but is not publishing it unless an official report is released by the coroner's office. We have also obtained the names of the people who lived at the residence, but we are choosing not to release that information at this time to respect the family's privacy.

Neighbors say the people who lived there were a nice couple, which is why they were so shocked. They also say, the day after the shooting, the boyfriend moved out of the house and never came back.

"He came. I saw him get a box, put it in the trunk and leave. That was the last time I seen him," said Tyree McCary, a neighbor. "You've got to be there to see it. So if it's self-defense, it's self-defense."

The department could not say who called 911 or if they have recovered the weapon.
