LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating an overnight fatal crash on Interstate 15 in Jean Monday morning.

Troopers were called to the scene at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday on I-15 at mile marker 8.

Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel, of the Nevada Highway Patrol, said a female pedestrian was in the roadway and struck by a semi-truck at that location.

The pedestrian, identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as 25-year-old Dananjani Silva, of Redlands, CA, was pronounced deceased in the crash.

The Clark County Coroner's Office determined suicide as the cause of death.

The semi-truck did not stop after the impact and troopers said they would like to speak to the driver even though Silva is at fault for the crash.

The crash caused delays through the overnight hours on I-15 in Jean as the Nevada Department of Transportation reported southbound travel was restricted in the area.

Southbound I-15 travel lanes were reopened just after 5:15 a.m., and NHP said the crash remains under investigation.

No further information has been released at this time by authorities.
