LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

With the last chance to early vote before next week's key Election Day, Clark County shattered its single-day voting turnout record on Friday.

As of 10 p.m., the county reported 57,097 voters turned out in all of Friday alone, breaking the previous one-day record of more than 48,000.

A majority of polling places in the county closed at 7 p.m., but some places remained open until 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. In addition, some polling places were kept open past the closing time to accommodate voters who remained in line by the deadline.

With Friday's number, Clark County's early voting turnout surpassed 486,000 voters for this year's presidential contest. During the 2012 general election, around 430,000 people voted early.

All those last-minute early voters meant long lines at some early voting locations, like the Galleria Mall, when the line stretched and looped through the hallways. Workers said the wait was up to 45 minutes.

But, voters say the wait is worth it to get a weight off their shoulders.

"It's a relief! It's a big relief, like 'finally i made a decision,'" Lloyd Flores said.
