LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Three teenagers were recovering a day after they were injured in a shooting that took place on Halloween night in the northeast Las Vegas Valley.

According to police, officers responded to the 6300 block of East Carey Avenue for an argument between trick-or-treaters and occupants of a vehicle. A person began firing shots from the vehicle, hitting three juveniles.

Police additional said the incident began when someone inside the vehicle threw an egg at the group of six teens. The teens threw a rock back at the vehicle prompting the gunfire.

The juveniles were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Residents living on Carey and Mt. Hood Street were on edge after learning about the shooting.

"I think it's crazy, and my little sister has to go to school right over there," said one resident.

Police did not disclose a description of the shooter or shooters. A gold sport-utility vehicle was believed to be involved in the case.
