LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police are once again teaming with the U.S. Marshals in order to keep kids safe from predators on Halloween.

Operation Trick-or-Treat is a three-day operation in Clark County in which law enforcement ensures sex offenders are in compliance with registration requirements.

Law enforcement anticipates conducting more than 200 compliance checks. Those sex offenders found not to be in compliance will be investigated and possibly prosecuted.

While law enforcement will be vigilant, there are steps parents can take to keep their kids safe as well:

  • Don’t allow kids to go trick-or-treating alone
  • Children should never enter someone’s home without a parent’s permission
  • Teach kids to “Shout Out Loud” and scream if someone tries to grab them
