Pedestrian killed in suspected DUI crash in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police said a woman was arrested for driving under the influence after a crash left a man injured and woman a dead Wednesday. 

Police responded to reports that a driver struck two people on a sidewalk near Charleston Boulevard and Las Vegas Boulevard just after 10 p.m. 

Citing witnesses and evidence at the scene, police said a 2011 Toyota Camry was heading east on Charleston Boulevard at Las Vegas Boulevard when the vehicle went off the roadway and onto a sidewalk striking two pedestrians. The pedestrians, a man and woman, were sitting on the wall. 

Both pedestrians were taken to University Medical Center where the woman was pronounced dead, police said. The man received treatment for substantial injuries. 

The driver, identified as 45-year-old Andrea Corbani, displayed signs of impairment and was arrested for driving under the influence resulting in death. 

The incident remains under investigation.
