LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro detectives are searching for an attempted robber who was described as violent.

Police said that about 8:53 p.m. on Oct. 23, patrol officers responded to a business located in the 7800 block of West Tropical Parkway, at Centennial Center Boulevard.

Several employees there said they were the victims of an attempted robbery, and surveillance video captured the scene.

A man entered the business holding a large stick. He then forced two employees to the back office area where he repeatedly struck one of them with the stick.

The man then placed his hands around the neck of the same employee and threatened to kill that employee if he didn’t receive money. The victim received arm lacerations from the stick.

The man then fled the business. There was no indication he obtained any money.

The man responsible was described as black, in his 20s, 5’8” tall and about 175 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie, black sunglasses, a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark gloves and dark jeans.

It’s also believed the man responsible has braces on his teeth.

Anyone with information was urged to call Metro’s Commercial Robbery Section at 702-828-3591. Those wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
