LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Two men convicted for their roles in a tablet-device robbery that resulted in the death of a Las Vegas teenager were each sentenced to prison terms of up to life in prison.

Las Vegas Justice Court announced Tuesday sentences for Michael Solid, 24, and Jacob Dismont, 21. Solid was found guilty earlier this year during a trial in the 2013 robbery and death of Marcos Arenas.

A jury recommended a life sentence for Solid with the possibility of parole after 20 years. However, a judge affirmed a sentence of 30 years to life in prison.

Dismont, who was the other person arrested and convicted in the case, was given 15 years to life in prison.

Both men were arrested after Arenas was robbed of an iPad while on his way home from school. According to police, Arenas held onto the device during the attempted robbery while one of the men drove away. Arenas fell to the ground and was run over by their vehicle.

Dismont agreed to plead guilty to charges of second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery.
