Early voters are heading to the polls in record numbers in Clark County.

Early voting began Saturday, and it looks like most people are not going to wait until Election Day to cast their ballots.

“People work different hours, especially in Las Vegas. They can’t get to a poll very easily on one day. This gives more people the opportunity to voice their opinion,” a voter said Monday.

During the first two days of the early voting period, more than 70,000 Clark County residents cast ballots early. Turnout was steady Monday as well.

“This line was probably five times longer than it was last year, but it still moved very quickly,” a voter said.

“I took time off of work today. Since it was raining I figured it was a good time to come out and vote,” another voter said.

There are dozens of early voting sites around the Valley, and voters can choose from any of them.

“Unless you’re totally undecided, I think you should cast your vote as early as you can in case something happens and you don’t get the chance to vote,” a voter said.

“I used to support one candidate that I’m not supporting now, so I had to come and make sure my vote got counted as soon as possible,” another voter added.

Making this election particularly historic is the presence of a woman on the ballot for president.

“I’m glad there’s some opportunities for women to become president. However, it’s not just because she’s a woman. You have to make sure she stands for what you believe in, too,” a voter said.

“You need to voice your opinion, otherwise you have no right to complain when something happen you don’t like because you didn’t voice your opinion and get someone that you like elected,” another voter said.

You can take advantage of early voting until Nov. 4. Election Day is Nov. 8.
