NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

President Barack Obama hit the campaign trail in North Las Vegas Sunday, stumping for Hillary Clinton and other major democratic candidates in Nevada.

During the 30-minute speech, the president compared the 2016 election to game of blackjack and listed off the candidates that he says make a winning hand.

“The way to make sure you win this hand is to boost Catherine [Cortez-Masto’s] odds of winning this election,” Obama said. “The way you make sure Jackie [Rosen] and Reuben [Kihuen] are in congress is to go vote.”

The president also spent some time comparing the two presidential candidates, and talked about Trump negatively.

“Suddenly your presidential nominee is kissing up to Vladimir Putin,” Obama said. “In a debate [he] said he'll jail his opponent without due process…and wants to deport whoever he wants.”

Obama’s speech was mostly welcomed with loud cheers by young supporters.

“It was inspiring just to see everyone come together,” said Fabian Donate, a student at UNLV. “We're ready for change and we're ready to continue our progress.”

Meanwhile, other voters are casting their ballots knowing that both candidates have had their fair share of obstacles this election cycle.

“There’s a clear delineation between what’s right and what’s wrong,” said Nick Cipolini, a Las Vegas local, chose to back Clinton. “Who is going to move the country forward in a positive manor and who is not.”

In a statement to FOX5 the Trump campaign addressed the President’s visit to the area. "Nevadans are looking for change from the insider dealing and corruption in government and they realize that draining the swamp in Washington begins with defeating Hillary"
