LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Clark County Fire Department responded to an apartment fire just after 8 p.m. on Sunday.

The fire happened in a four plex building at the 2600 block of Red Rock Street, near West Sahara Avenue and South Jones Boulevard, according to the fire department.

A Deputy Fire Chief John Steinbeck with CCFD said a second floor apartment was fully involved in fire, including the balcony.

Two other units in the building sustained smoke damage while one unit sustained water damage, the report said.

The Las Vegas American Red Cross is assisting eight people that were displaced, Steinbeck said.

CCFD said one pet was killed in the fire.

Steinbeck said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

We will update this story as more details become available.
