LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Medical examiners identified the victim of a shooting that took place over the weekend in northwest Las Vegas.

According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, Raybon Solomon, 26, died from a gunshot wound to the chest as a result of a homicide.

Las Vegas Metro police said officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Sun Point Drive, near Vegas Drive and North Jones Boulevard, at about 1 a.m. Saturday. Police found a man on the ground outside of a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds.

As police were helping the victim, the suspect returned to the crime scene, police said. Steven Lewis, 33, was detained.

The victim was transported to University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators found the victim and the suspect were both dating the same woman. The woman and the victim were at a restaurant when Lewis confronted them before the incident.

Police said Lewis later went to the woman's residence, where the victim was visiting. The victim and the suspect started to fight when the suspect shot the victim.

The incident marked the 139th homicide in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
