Health district reports first flu-related death in Clark County

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Southern Nevada reported the first flu-related death in Clark County Wednesday for the 2016 to 2017 season.

The health district said an adult man over the age of 65 died from flu-related causes. He was hospitalized. Further details of the man were not released.

The health district said the flu season peaks in January and February and reminded residents that flu vaccines are still available.  

Everyone is encouraged to get flu shots, especially those at high-risk for complications from the flu.
