LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

With 5,000 journalists, politicians and tons of security in town, it’s going to be difficult to get around parts of Las Vegas Wednesday.

If you don’t need to be around the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of University of Nevada, Las Vegas, it might be better to stay home and watch the third and final presidential debate on FOX5.

There will be intermittent closures in effect throughout the day. You’ll definitely want to avoid southbound Interstate 15 from Sahara Avenue to Interstate 215.

If you need to catch a flight at McCarran Airport, leave yourself plenty of time. Traffic will be affected from Russell Road to Maryland Parkway, and from Maryland Parkway to Tropicana Avenue. You’ll also run into trouble on westbound Tropicana from Maryland to Swenson Street.

It’s recommended that if you need to go to the airport that you take Flamingo Road or Tropicana Avenue to Paradise Road.

The Rolling Stones concert that was scheduled for Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena was canceled, so that might ease traffic congestion a bit.
