TRAVERSE CITY, MI (FOX5) -

The suspect in a Las Vegas homicide case may have been killed in a shooting in Michigan, according to authorities.

According to the Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a shooting on Friday and found 30-year-old David Peretiatko dead at a residence. Deputies said David’s wife, 23-year-old Ashley Peretiatko, was found with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Citing reports from Las Vegas Metro police, deputies believe David committed a homicide in Las Vegas on or about Oct. 11. Deputies said David lured the victim into a room, stabbed the victim then stole the victim's vehicle.

Metro police alerted Ashley’s father that David may have been heading towards Traverse City.

On Friday, a Traverse City sergeant received information that David may be going to Ashley’s home and alerted her father. That is when her father told the deputy that David was at the residence and had been shot. At the same time, Ashley’s mother reported the shooting to 911.

The incident remains under investigation. No arrests have been made in connection to the Michigan shooting.
