NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

A North Las Vegas Fire Department captain killed in the line of duty will be laid to rest Thursday.

According to Local 1607’s Facebook page, the service for Capt. Yaphet Miller will begin at 11 a.m. at the amphitheater at Craig Ranch Park, near Craig Road and Commerce Street.

After the service, a procession will escort Capt. Miller to Palm Mortuary in the 6700 block of north Jones Boulevard, near Interstate 215.

It was not immediately clear if the public is invited to attend the service.

Capt. Miller died following a medical emergency while fighting a fire on Oct. 6.

A Go Fund Me fundraiser was created to assist Miller's family. If you would like to donate, you can follow this link.
