HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

A cellphone was capturing video as a Henderson man went on a racist tirade against a group of construction workers.

A lot of people have attributed racist sentiment bubbling to the surface to a phenomenon that’s been called the Trump Effect, but FOX5 political analyst Mark Peplowski characterized that as an unfair generalization.

The video recently surfaced on Facebook. In addition to calling the workers derogatory names, the man demanded to see their citizenship papers and said he hopes Trump’s elected so that they are deported.

A loud beeping sound coming from the construction site set the man off.

“Let me see your proof of citizenship!” the man said in the video. “I hope Trump wins and deports every one of those illegals.”

While FOX5 didn’t get the irate man’s name, we did speak to him about the incident outside his home in Henderson.

Construction worker Jorge Tally captured the incident on his phone. He said he just recently started his job.

“I get out and work for my family, for my kids,” he said. “We were immigrants, we were illegals, we were wetbacks, all the trash.”

The man reiterated his views when FOX5 visited him Tuesday.

“Just by looking at them you know (expletive) well they’re illegals, and the guy didn’t deny it,” he said.

FOX5 looked into Tally’s immigration status. It turns out he is working legally in the United States and is a permanent resident.

“This happens a lot but a lot of people stay quiet because they get scared,” Tally said.

Still, Peplowski said it’s important to keep in mind that not all Trump supporters agree with the Henderson man’s views.

“We shouldn't just label it as Trump’s issue or Trump’s choice. We have a whole subset of culture that wants to believe that the thoughts of the last generation or two are still valid today,” he said.

Tally also said the man pushed one of his fellow construction workers during the confrontation.
