T-Mobile Arena hosts first NHL game

Posted: Updated:

While we’ve still got to wait a year to see the Las Vegas NHL team in action, pro hockey debuted at T-Mobile Arena Friday night.

The Dallas Stars defeated the Los Angeles Kings 6-3.

This weekend’s doubleheader marks the 18th and final Frozen Fury event in Las Vegas. Fans from all over the country and Canada filled the seats to see what pro hockey will look like in Las Vegas.

“It’s really good to see everybody getting together to celebrate hockey,” a Dallas Stars fan said.

“You see the arena and you’re just like, ‘Wow.’ It just makes sense. You have to have hockey here. Why not?” Los Angeles Kings fan Miguel Vaglienty said.

Earlier in the day, fans enjoyed food trucks and a little hockey themselves.

“When the Kings play, it’ll be perfect for us to come out here, take a vacation and then watch the Kings,” fan Tim Marino said.

The Kings will take on the Colorado Avalanche Saturday night.
