LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A UNLV dance student is taking her passion to TV. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is hosting a new docu-series that follows students as they compete in the Drum Corps championships.

Dancer Catie Toal has been at it nearly her entire life.

“We first noticed that she lived dancing when she was 3 years old, and she was doing choreography from Britney Spears videos,” said Stacie Toal, Catie’s Toal’s mom.

The series, called Clash of the Corps, follows two teams, The Cadets and the Blue Devils, as they train for the championship.

“The Rock put up kind of a teaser of the show, and I saw myself, which was weird to see myself on television,” Catie Toal said. “I’m just excited for the world to know what drum corps is. It’s such a small community, but it’s such a big deal for the people who were in it.”

Catie Toal and her mom are hoping the series will inspire people to get involved.

“I’m hoping it inspires parents maybe that are reluctant to let their children [get involved]. I mean, you can go as young as 16 to be in this group,” Stacie Toal said.

“It just tests who you are as a person and it puts you around these people with so much passion. It just has motivated me in my life to just absolutely do what I want to do,” Catie Toal said.

Clash of the Corps is currently airing on fuse.
