NLV police ID man arrested for arson fire

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

North Las Vegas police on Wednesday identified the man arrested Monday in connection with an arson fire as 23-year-old Tony Fernandez.

The fire broke out about 7:50 p.m. at a home located on East Nelson Avenue, near Carey Avenue and North Las Vegas Boulevard.

Fernandez was taken into custody by North Las Vegas Fire Department arson investigators and booked into Las Vegas City Jail. He faces charges of first-degree arson and battery with a deadly weapon.

Two people were treated for injuries following the fire. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

Firefighters put the blaze out in about five minutes.
