NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

A North Las Vegas middle school was placed on a brief lockdown Wednesday while police investigated claims of a shooting.

According to Clark County School District, Jim Bridger Middle School on Bruce Street near Carey Avenue was locked down as a precaution at 10:40 a.m.

The lockdown stemmed from a student's claim of shots fired in the area, according to Aaron Patty, of North Las Vegas police. Officers investigated to claims but found nothing pertaining to a shooting.

The school's lockdown was lifted, as of 11:30 a.m.
