LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A Las Vegas youth cheerleading squad is left without hundreds of dollars worth of equipment after crooks stole a coach's car, which was filled with pom-poms, shoes and bows.

The Las Vegas Aces cheerleading squad is made up of girls from 5 years old to 14, and they cheer at competitions and youth football games. Owners said that overnight, an assistant coach's car was stolen, and inside the car were dozens of things meant for the young cheerleaders.

"We don't have a lot of equipment. We're cheerleaders so the pom-poms are our thing," head cheerleading coach Kellee Almquist said.

The girls held fundraisers to buy the equipment, which totaled around $850.

"There were 52 sets of  pom-poms, which is well over $600 worth of pom-poms, along with various competition shoes and things like that," Aces owner Cortney Stemme said. "It's just disappointing. The girls are going be really disappointed when they find out that their equipment was stolen. I mean, obviously the car was stolen, too, but there was no insurance on the things that were inside the vehicle. It's just unfortunate and we're just kind of in shock right now."

But as that shock wears off, the coaches are thinking about how to replace all the equipment, and they have a message for whoever took off with the car.

"If there's any way you can give it back to us so our girls can have the things they worked so hard to fundraise to get so they can have a game day on Saturday and not just be standing there," Almquist said.

Coaches are asking people to be on the lookout for the stolen car and equipment as well. The car is a 2014 charcoal black Chevrolet Malibu bearing license plate number 86B-870.
