NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

Two people were injured and one taken into custody following a fire in North Las Vegas Monday evening.

The fire was reported at 7:49 p.m. at a home located near the intersection of East Nelson Avenue and North Spear Street, just north of Carey Avenue and North Las Vegas Boulevard.

“There were two people standing outside the house on our arrival. Those two people suffered some injuries. One was transported to UMC Trauma; the second one is being treated here on the scene,” North Las Vegas Fire Capt. Cedric Williams said.

Williams said firefighters put the blaze out in about five minutes but were mopping up for a few hours after that. The fire caused about $20,000 worth of damage.

Williams further said one person was taken into custody following the fire and investigators suspect arson.
