MT. CHARLESON (FOX5) -

A half-acre fire continued to burn near Mary Jane Falls Sunday, according to the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest Service.

Crews responded to the fire, called the "Lost Fire", at the Spring Mountain National Recreation Area at 2:30 a.m., the forest service said.

Rocky terrain and minimal vegetation is preventing the fire from spreading, the service said. Firefighters are not attacking it directly due to steep and rocky terrain.

The Forest Service said the Mary Jane Trail remains open, but visitors can expect to see smoke for the next two to three days.

The fire was human caused, the forest service said.

Current fire and shooting restrictions remain in place at the Spring Mountain National Recreation Area. More information on restrictions can be found online
