LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police are investigating an early morning fatal crash Saturday where speed and alcohol appear to be factors.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of H Street and Owens Avenue just after 3 a.m. with reports of a vehicle accident.

Police said two vehicles. an SUV and a pickup truck, entered the intersection at the same time, one reportedly against a red light, and the vehicles collided.

The impact of the collision overturned the SUV, a 2000 GMC Jimmy, after entering the intersection against the light according to police.

The pickup truck, a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche, was attempting a left turn on a green light at the intersection before the collision happened according to Metro.

Police said a 20-year-old man was behind the wheel of the GMC Jimmy and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

While the 55-year-old driver of the Avalanche was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries according to authorities.

Speed and alcohol appear to have been contributing factors in the crash, according to police, with the pickup driver not displaying any signs of impairment.

The deceased 20-year-old was later identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as Eduardo Morales-Urrutia, of Las Vegas.

Officers said the collision remains under investigation and traffic restrictions were in place at the intersection after the incident.

This was traffic fatality number 82 in Metro's jurisdiction for 2016.

Authorities have not released any further details at this time.
