Passerby halts robbery in northeast; armed man sought

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police are looking for a man in connection to an attempted armed robbery that took place in the northeast Valley Tuesday.

According to police, before 5 p.m. that day, a man approached a woman in a parking lot located in the 700 block of North Nellis Boulevard, near East Bonanza Road.

The man produced a revolver and demanded the woman’s purse. The woman screamed, alerting a passerby to the situation. The passerby yelled at the armed man, and he fled without the victim’s belongings.

The man responsible was described as black, 6’ tall and with short hair. He was wearing a black shirt, shorts and dark shoes. Police believe he may be connected to several robberies in the northeast.
