Las Vegans call debate along party lines

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Speaking with Las Vegans who watched Monday night’s presidential debate, it was clear the party faithful were reassured about their choice in November.

Clark County Republican Chairman Dwight Mazzone organized a watch party at NECHE, a restaurant and lounge located at Town Square. The crowd was fired up.

“I think he’s (Donald Trump) gotten into a groove. He’s starting to talk the way people like to hear him talk. He’s giving solutions. I think the American people are looking for change,” an attendee said.

Nevada Rep. Dina Titus disagrees. She spoke with FOX5 via Skype Monday evening and said Hillary Clinton was the clear winner.

“It was just an outstanding performance by Hillary Clinton. She showed she had the depth of knowledge, the experience, the temperament to be president, and that’s what she needed to do,” Titus said.

Everyone agreed Monday’s debate has them fired up for the third and final debate, to take place at University of Nevada, Las Vegas on Oct. 19.

“I’m looking forward to having a big turnout. Since it’s here, I think we’re gonna have a big turnout for a show like this,” a debate viewer said.

“I’m very excited that we’re gonna have a debate in Nevada. It’s going to make UNLV look good. It’s gonna make Las Vegas look good. A lot of international people are going to be watching this, so I’m excited about that,”
