Former Palo Verde student identified as victim in dirt bike crash

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A former student of Palo Verde High School was identified as the victim of a deadly dirt bike crash Tuesday.

According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office, 16-year-old Shane Sanders died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries. The manner was ruled an accident.

The Clark County School District confirmed Sanders attended the school for two months at the end of the 2015 to 2016 school year. 

Las Vegas Metro police said Sanders rode a dirt bike through a red light at the intersection of Hualapai Way and Alta Drive and crashed into a Toyota RAV4. Sanders went through a side window of the vehicle.

A woman inside the vehicle was transported to University Medical Center, police said.

Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
