LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

According to an arrest report released by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Wednesday, a double shooting Monday at the McCarran International Airport Terminal 1 parking structure was domestic in nature, part of a love triangle.

About 5:56 p.m. Monday, police were summoned to the sixth floor of the structure in response to a call of a shooting. The person who called police initially was identified as the son of the male victim.

Police received a second call, and following a few moments of silence, the person on the line said, “Help.”

Police located the shooting victims, identified as Fara Brown and her boyfriend, Monique Short. The suspect was identified as Jeffery Brown, Fara Brown’s estranged husband.

While at the scene, police received a call from Jeffrey Brown’s son, Faheeb Brown, who said he had been informed that his father had shot his mother.

Security video indicated that Jeffery Brown had visited the parking garage three times earlier in the day and that he had fled following the shooting.

The victims were taken to Sunrise Hospital, where they were treated for gunshot wounds to the back.

When police spoke with Monique Short’s son, who is not identified by name in the report, he said he had been on vacation in Indianapolis with his father and Fara Brown. He said he had overheard Fara Brown on the phone with Jeffery Brown a few days earlier and that she was yelling at him about breaking into her Henderson apartment.

The son further said Jeffery Brown pulled up behind them in a silver SUV when they arrived at the parking garage. Monique Short asked Jeffery Brown if he had something to say to him. A short time later, he heard two or three gunshots.

Jeffery Brown’s son informed police that he may have been at the VA hospital located at 6900 N. Pecos Rd. in North Las Vegas. Jeffery Brown was taken into custody there.

When police interviewed Jeffery Brown, he said “the boyfriend” got in his face, so he shot him first. He said Fara Brown was “whooping’ and hollerin’’ so he “shot her to shut her up.”

Police located a black Ruger LCR .38 Special Plus 5 in Jeffery Brown’s vehicle.

Brown is charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon.
