LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A woman who suffered burns in a northeast Las Vegas Valley house fire Wednesday was trying to save pets from the burning residence.

According to Clark County Fire Department, firefighters were called to 3551 Purdue Way, near Gowan and Pecos roads, at 6:05 a.m.

Smoke and fire appeared from a trailer home at the address. Additional fire personnel from Las Vegas Fire and Rescue and North Las Vegas Fire Department assisted in controlling the flames and preventing it from spreading to neighboring structures.

CCFD said units had the fire knocked down within 16 minutes of the call.

One person who suffered burns at the scene was rushed to University Medical Center in critical condition. Another person was treated at the scene with unspecified injuries.

The victim's roommate at the scene said the woman went back into the home to save her pet rats and snakes.

In all, three people were displaced by the fire. The cause of the fire was being investigated.
