LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue reported via Twitter its members were at the scene of a fatal vehicle crash in the northwest Tuesday evening.

The crash was reported just before 7 p.m. at the intersection of South Hualapai Way and Alta Drive.

According to Las Vegas Metro police at the scene, a person on a dirt bike, which was not legal to operate in the area, rand a red light, crashed into a Toyota RAV4 and actually went through a side window of the SUV.

Flying glass and the impact sent a woman who was inside the RAV4 to University Medical Center. It's not believed her injuries are life-threatening.

The dirt bike rider, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

This marked the 80th traffic-related crash in Metro's jurisdiction in 2016.
