LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police were working a domestic related situation in northwest Las Vegas Sunday morning.

Las Vegas Metro police said they were called to a neighborhood near Washington Avenue and Cimarron Road at about 4:45 a.m. for a domestic disturbance.

Officers at the scene tried to make contact with a man inside a residence, but he refused to exit according to Metro.

At 9 a.m., officers set a perimeter around the location of the incident as they attempted to get the man to exit peacefully.

Metro said the man was eventually taken into custody, with assistance from the SWAT team, without incident by 12 p.m.

Authorities have not released any further information at this time.
