Pedestrian fatally struck by motorcycle in NLV identified

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

A pedestrian who was struck and killed by a motorcyclist in North Las Vegas was identified by medical examiners.

Virginia Patricia Martinez, 47, died of multiple blunt force injuries as a result of an accident, the Clark County Coroner's Office ruled.

According to North Las Vegas police, the woman was crossing the roadway at Lake Mead Boulevard and Webster Street just before 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 5. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to University Medical Center. The rider suffered minor injuries.

Martinez later died at the hospital.

It was not immediately known if the woman was crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk.
