LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

While there may not necessarily be a first place, a race set for Saturday in downtown Las Vegas is giving beer-lovers a sense of victory.

The touring National Beer Mile is giving expert and novice runners a chance to scramble blocks of downtown while chugging their way through multiple stations of brew.

The event is set from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with check-in open at 3 p.m. The race starts around the Llama Lot, which includes the marquee of the former Ambassador Hotel, at 152 N. 9th St.

The event will include four stations of beers to imbibe as well as a post-race party.

In addition, City of Las Vegas is planning road closures to accommodate runners beginning at 2 p.m. and running until 8 p.m. Closures include Fremont Street from 8th to 11th streets; 11th from Fremont to Lewis Avenue; Lewis from 9th to 11th; 9th from Lewis to Carson Avenue; Carson from 8th to 9th; and 8th from Carson to Fremont.
