LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A pair suspected of stealing a package from a Las Vegas home was involved in a crash while running from officers, according to Las Vegas Metro police.

Police responded to the 6400 block of Acorn Oaks Street, near Sunset Road and Fort Apache Road, at 12:09 p.m. for reports of a package theft by a man and woman, Metro said.

Officers spotted a scooter that matched the suspect’s and tried to stop it near Durango Drive and Russell Road, Metro said. The scooter did not stop.

Metro said the pair entered a pedestrian path near a wash to evade police. The scooter reentered the roadway near Rainbow Boulevard and Hacienda Avenue and collided with another vehicle.

The pair on the scooter was transported to University Medical Center in unknown condition.

Police had a portion of Rainbow Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue blocked for the investigation.
