HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

Investigators with the Henderson Police Department determined that a 38-year-old Henderson man killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.

The female victim, only described as a 41-year-old woman, was in the process of moving out of the house, according to the police. Officers determined that she was stopping by the house on Monday to pick up some of her belongings when her husband pulled out a handgun and shot her to death.

The woman's two daughters lived at the home. Police say one of the children was a 14-year-old girl from a prior relationship and that the woman's other child was a 9-year-old she had in common with the gunman. Neither of the kids were home at the time.

Neighbors said they knew police had been to the house just a few weeks ago, but they didn't know much about it because they "didn't want to be nosy." A spokesperson for the department said it was simply an argument that needed to be resolved. Nobody was arrested.

"The enemy was inside. The gun was inside the house," said one neighbor, who didn't want his name to be published. "It's not like someone broke in or someone assaulted them. Hopefully it doesn't happen again."
