Man no longer suspect in Henderson homicide

HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

The Henderson Police Department on Tuesday reported a man taken into custody in connection to a homicide that occurred on Aug. 27 is no longer considered a suspect.

Michael Lanunziata, 28, was set to be released from the Henderson Detention Center Tuesday evening, Henderson Police Department spokeswoman Michelle French reported.

About 6:18 a.m. on Aug. 27, someone reported hearing gunshots in the 1100 block of Pleasure Lane.

Police arrived a short time later and located a man with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Lanunziata was at the scene and was taken into custody.

There was also a woman at the home when police arrived. Her relationship to the victim wasn’t immediately known.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Lamar Reid.

French said the homicide, the sixth in Henderson in 2016, remains under investigation.
