LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A man who was involved in a crash in the south Las Vegas Valley and later died after spending seven days in the hospital has been identified.

The Clark County Coroner's Office said William Dunham, 82, died of an infection stemming from the June 22 crash. The manner of his death was ruled an accident.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, the incident involved two vehicles that crashed in the area of Las Vegas Boulevard and Warm Springs Road. Dunham's Lincoln Town Car was attempting a left turn onto Las Vegas Boulevard from a private drive when he was struck by a Toyota.

Dunham was originally transported to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. An infection, though, caused Dunham's death on June 29.

On Tuesday, police confirmed Dunham's death as an accident. The incident marked the 72nd traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.

The other driver in the incident sustained minor injuries.
