LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Authorities identified a 71-year-old driver who died of his injuries stemming from a crash involving parked vehicles in the central Las Vegas Valley.

According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, Edward Noordhoek, of Las Vegas, died of complication of blunt force abdominal injuries.

In the incident that happened on July 9, Noordhoek was behind the wheel of a Hyundai Santa Fe that struck two unoccupied vehicles in the area of Torrey Pines Drive, north of Alta Drive. Noordhoek's vehicle failed to maintain its travel lane before drifting into the vehicles.

Noordhoek refused medical treatment at the scene.

A day later, though, Noordhoek was transported to University Medical Center for his injuries. He died 10 days later, police said.

On Tuesday, Metro disclosed the cause of death for Noordhoek as an accident.

The incident marked the 71st traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
