PAHRUMP, NV (FOX5) -

A deputy on a motorcycle was taken to a Las Vegas hospital Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle in Pahrump.

Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel, of Nevada Highway Patrol, said the incident involving the law enforcement vehicle happened in the area of state routes 372 and 160 just before 11 a.m.

The Nye County deputy was up and walking around after the crash, the Pahrump Valley Times reported.

Stuenkel said the deputy had the motorcycle's lights and sirens activated at the time of the crash.

The deputy was airlifted to University Medical Center with non-life threatening but serious injuries, according to Stuenkel.

There was no word of injuries involving the other driver in the incident. It was not immediately known if the driver will be cited.
