LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Medical examiners said a 19-year-old killed in an ‘accidental’ shooting was ruled a homicide.

According to the Clark County Coroner’s Office, Javante Stockard died from a gunshot wound of the chest. The manner was ruled as a homicide.

Stockard was killed Thursday after a shooting near basketball courts in the 900 block of west Lake Mead Boulevard, near Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Citing an interview with the person responsible for firing the gun, police said it appeared to be accidental. However, the Clark County District Attorney’s Office is considering charges.
