Pedestrian struck, killed near Flamingo and Maryland

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A 34-year-old man was identified as the pedestrian who was struck in killed east of the Las Vegas Strip.

According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, Ernesto Lizama died of multiple blunt force injuries as a result of an accident.

Las Vegas Metro police said the incident involving Lizama took place last Thursday at Flamingo Road and Tamarus Street, near Maryland Parkway, at 11:21 p.m.

Police said a Nissan was traveling eastbound on Flamingo, near Tamarus when it struck a pedestrian walking outside of a marked crosswalk and against a pedestrian traffic signal.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by medics, police said. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated.
