Teenager shot, killed in North Las Vegas identified

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

Medical examiners said they have identified a teenager killed in a shooting on Saturday. 

According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, 19-year-old Kenneth Boykin, Jr. died from a gunshot wound of the shoulder. The manner was ruled a homicide.

Officers responded to the 2700 block of Castle Street, near Commerce Street and Carey Avenue, in reference to a shooting call at about 12:40 a.m. according to the North Las Vegas Police Department.

Police said they Boykin in the street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at that location and medical personnel pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

Currently no one is in custody related to this incident and officers said the shooting doesn't appear to be a random act of violence.

Authorities have not released any further information at this time.
