Henderson police have identified the suspect in a deadly shooting  in the southeast portion of town Saturday morning.

According to Michelle French, of Henderson police, 28-year-old Michael Lanunziata was booked on an open murder charge and is being held at the Henderson Detention Center.

Officers were alerted to shots fired in a neighborhood at the 1100 block of Pleasure Lane, near Boulder Highway and I-515, at 6:15 a.m.

French said a neighbor called authorities to that location and arriving officers located a man who was shot inside a residence.

A couple who lives nearby said they were walking their dog early in the morning when they heard gunshots.

"What I thought was strange was the first time we walked around, we walked around several times, there was nobody there. So, the cars just got there and it happened quick," said neighbor Sam Lucero.

Lucero and his wife, Laurie, described the neighborhood as normally quiet.

The Luceros said they saw two men and a woman walk inside the residence before the shooting.

The two men knew each other according to officers and were roommates at some point. A female was also home at the time of the incident, but police haven't released any information about her involvement, if any.

"I hear some lady scream and I said wait a minute, I seen her come out and walked toward the gate not far from the house and made the call, evidently to police," said Laurie.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene and Lanunziata, the suspected shooter, remained at the scene and was arrested without incident according to police.

Police described the deceased as a Caucasian man in his late 20s to early 30s. The Clark County Coroner's Office will later release the identity of the victim.

The incident remains under investigation by Henderson police, but Sam said it looked like someone was in the process of moving.

"They looked like they were finishing packing from a move. Then we heard the loud booms," Sam said.

Henderson police said they would release more details in the investigation as it becomes available.
