LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump met with Latino community and business leaders Friday. Trump briefly let members of the media in the meeting before asking them to leave.

During that short time, Trump spoke about gross domestic product, which is a monetary measure of goods and services produced that determines economic performance.

"The GDP was reduced last month to 1.1 percent when last month it was at 1.2.   Everybody thought that was a catastrophe and they brought it down. It's unheard of numbers, you just don't hear numbers like that. In China if they drop to 8 percent it's like a national catastrophe and here we are at 1.1 percent. Just announced. It's a very serious problem. The country has some very serious problems. It's gonna get worse with these people that don't know what they're doing," Trump said.

Trump said that his campaign is doing well with Latinos. He added that people want more job creation and he plans on doing that.

FOX News reported that Trump's meeting was closed to the public. The event came several days after the cancellation of a rally planned in town for the same day.

A person attending the affair posted about the Trump campaign's presence:

News of Trump's presence in Las Vegas was further substantiated with a sighting of the real estate mogul's airplane at McCarran Field near McCarran International Airport.

Earlier this week, the South Point hotel-casino said a previously planned rally set for the south Valley property was cancelled. The hotel gave no reason for the cancellation other than the campaign chose not to make the appearance.
