NLVPD: Man shot before crashing into vehicle

Posted: Updated:

North Las Vegas police said a man was shot before crashing his vehicle early Thursday morning.

Police responded to reports of a shooting and crash at 2 a.m. in the 2500 block of Glory View Lane, near Carey Avenue and Simmons Street.

Arriving officers found a 37-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was transported to University Medical Center where he later died, police said.

Citing a preliminary investigation, police said the man was behind the wheel when he was shot. The man lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked vehicle.

Police said the suspect or suspects left the scene before police arrived, so no one is in custody.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will later release the identity of the deceased.

Police do not believe this was a random act of violence.

The incident remains under investigation.
