LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

On Tuesday, the man who died in a collapsed scaffold at Tivoli Village was identified as 30-year-old Ricardo Bautista, of North Las Vegas.

Bautista leaves behind three children and a wife. His wife, Jacquelyn Bautista, said he wasn’t supposed to be at work on Monday.

“I’m broken. You know, my oldest son is asking, ‘Where’s [my] dad?’ It’s hard,” Jacquelyn Bautista said.

Jacquelyn Bautista described her husband as a hardworking man. His construction job was a side gig, a means of providing his family with more.

“He wasn’t supposed to go to work, so I told him just stay home, take a day off. He said, ‘No, I need to make more income,’” she said.

Ricardo Bautista was one of three men working on the scaffold when it collapsed. The other men managed to leap to safety.

“They called me at 2:40 saying he had an accident. I said, ‘What kind of accident? Tell me, where is he at?’” Jacquelyn Bautista said. “I’m not gonna see him walk through this door no more.”

Now, Jacquelyn is left to provide for the children her husband worked so hard for.

“He was just perfect,” she said.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to aid Ricardo Bautista’s family. It is available here: https://www.gofundme.com/2tab27gk.
