LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A pickup truck stolen from a woman who was just diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer was located on Wednesday.

Las Vegas Metro police confirmed the location of the vehicle during the morning at a gas station in the area of Nellis Boulevard and Twain Avenue. It was not known whether any arrests were made.

The truck belongs to Carolyn Shirley Reed, who uses it as a primary means of getting to and from her chemotherapy treatments. Reed was just diagnosed last Friday.

“Recently, I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, and my husband was going to take me up to the mountains to get away and relax,” Reed said.

The truck, which Carolyn Shirley Reed and her husband, John Reed, need to tow their camper, was stolen Tuesday from the front of their home, located at Pecos and Oquendo roads.

"Thanks for all your prayers, and thanks for coming together as a community. You just made my life a little better," Carolyn Shirley Reed said.

After inspecting the truck, John Reed said the inside of the vehicle was ransacked.

"The interior is trashed. They stole the safe, stereo amps. Just totally destroyed the inside of it," John Reed said.

John Reed added, though, the outside was OK.

"Just minor things, the main thing is we got the truck back 24 hours later. That's just amazing, I'm very happy," Carolyn Shirley Reed said.

Police urge anyone with information about the truck's theft to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
